Partnering with Pfizer, the State of Connecticut negotiated a deal with the pharmaceutical giant to renovate a vacant building for the state’s new data center. Located on the Pfizer campus in Groton, the new center supports the critical work of approximately 50,000 state personnel.
The fast-track renovation of over 9,000 square feet included selective demolition, new partitions, new raised access floor systems, new ceilings and extensive electrical work. The work included the removal/replacement of 4 existing computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units with new dual source units. Existing fire detection/protection systems were modified to suit the new IT configuration. Upon project completion, all new and existing systems for mechanical and electrical underwent formal commissioning. A state-of-the-art data center monitoring system was also installed.
