Located on 70 acres along the Thames River, Fairview was founded by the CT Independent Order of Odd Fellows Grand Lodge in 1892 as a non-profit senior housing and healthcare development. Its campus now includes multiple facilities, providing rehabilitation services and varied options for independent living.
Carlin Construction served as both construction manager and general contractor for Phase II of Thames Edge at Fairview which enables independent seniors to remain in beautiful greater Groton‐New London, while enjoying the benefits of community living and a guaranteed continuum of five-star care.
The Phase II project included the construction of 17 additional homes with single, double, and quad-cottage configurations across 9 buildings — ranging from 1,500 sf flats to 3,800 sf walkouts. Architectural features include wraparound decks — corner glazing to maximize the view across the river and to the south all the way out to Long Island Sound — and high-end interior finish options. The phased-turnover construction began in November 2014 with the entire project completed in January 2016.
